Employing a patient but direct approach to raw sound that swells and recedes like the gales of a Midwestern storm, Virga marries elements of Americana and noise rock into a distinctive sonic atmosphere rooted firmly in the prairie that they call home. Hailing from Lawrence, Kansas, Virga is composed of Faith Maddox on guitar/vocals, Isaac Castro on bass, and Billy Orr on drums. Formed in 2022, the band has toured across the Midwest and East Coast, playing alongside bands such as Spellling, Nilüfer Yanya, They Are Gutting a Body of Water, Squirrel Flower, and Sweeping Promises. The outfit released their most recent EP, The Perfect Freedom of Single Necessity, in January of 2026. Their sophomore record Eremocene was released in 2025 via Learning Curve Records.
